Beckman Coulter, Inc. introduced two kits for multiplexed, quantitative gene expression analysis on their GenomeLab GeXP Genetic Analysis System. The new Human Breast CancerPlex and Human MetastasisPlex Kits assay multiple genes from a single RNA sample. Both kits run in 96-well plate format and provide high throughput. With GeXP technology, up to 30 genes can be measured in each of hundreds of samples in one assay. These kits streamline the application of this technology in cancer research. The Human Breast CancerPlex Kit contains primer mixes for 25 of the most commonly studied genes, plus three reference genes and one internal standard. The Human MetastasisPlex Kit features the 16 most commonly studied biomarkers in the seven stages of tumor progression, plus three reference genes, and one internal standard.
