Beckman Coulter released an advanced version of its eXPert software for the Optima L-XP Series Ultracentrifuges used in proteomics, cytomics, and genomics discovery research. Although previous combinations of the centrifuge and its accompanying software have provided efficient processing of biological samples, the new Optima eXPert software adds efficiency and convenience through its remote monitoring and control features as well as its new security features, according to the company. Run simulations can be performed from remote locations. New security and audit trail features support users working with 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines for electronic run records, while three levels of password protection give system administrators tools to ensure uniform protocols. eXPert software and the Optima L-XP Series Ultracentrifuges are for research use only; not for use in diagnostic procedures.
